Lateef campaign announces endorsements from community leaders

Wednesday evening Bruce Roemmelt – Chairman of the Prince William County Democratic Committee – certified Dr. Babur Lateef as the official nominee of the Democratic Party for Chairman of the Board of County Supervisors.

“Dr. Lateef is a candidate who knows what it takes to win, but more importantly knows what it takes to lead. As our next Chairman, Dr. Lateef will not be focused on chasing higher office, he will be focused on us. Dr. Lateef understands what it takes to fix our economy, improve our schools and ease our commutes. I’m proud to support Dr. Lateef for Chairman,” Roemmelt said.

  • Keith Scarborough, Former Chair of PWCDC and Democratic Party of Virginia State Central Committee Member

Dr. Lateef, an eye surgeon from Woodbridge, announced his candidacy in late January and quickly established himself as an energetic challenger to current Chairman Corey Stewart, whose naked ambition for higher office has proven to be a disservice to Prince William County’s more than 400,000 residents. Dr. Lateef was the top Democratic fundraiser in the state in the first quarter, raising over $150,000 in 71 days.
