Lunar New Year To Bring Performances, Deals To Potomac Mills

WOODBRIDGE, VA — As Lunar New Year kicks off Wednesday, Potomac Mills in Woodbridge will host a returning celebration over the next weekend.

Potomac Mills will host its Lunar New Year event Saturday, Feb. 1 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Grand Court, 2700 Potomac Mills Circle, Woodbridge, VA. There will be live dance and music performances, giveaways from retailers, exclusive discount books and more. One of the highlights of the event will be the Lion Dance, a choreographed show with traditional bows, tossing of the Cheng and a scroll drop intended to bring good luck and fortune.

Shoppers can also receive an exclusive Lunar New Year discount book with deals from over 60 Potomac Mills retailers. Some retailers will have Lunar New Year merchandise, like Pandora, Puma, LEGO, Home Goods/Marshalls, SG Creations and Adidas outlet. A photo station will be located in Grand Court with themed backdrops and money trees to signify good luck. Lunar New Year, celebrated by Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean and some other Asian cultures, can result in celebrations lasting as long as 16 days. Each year features a different animal of the Chinese zodiac rotation, and 2025 is the Year of the Snake.
