Man Assaults Woman, Steals Her Keys In Dumfries: Police

A man beat a woman and then stole her keys at a home in Dumfries before fleeing, according to Prince William County Police.

DUMFRIES, VA—A man was arrested Thursday, April 11, after beating a woman and then stealing her keys at a home Monday in the 3100 block of Chesapeake Drive, according to Prince William County Police. Vincent Edward Dillard, 49, of the 17000 block of Wexford Loop, was charged with malicious wounding and petit larceny.

Shortly after 5:30 a.m. on April 8, police were dispatched to the aforementioned scene for a reported assault. A 41-year-old woman said she and Dillard, an acquaintance, were involved in an argument that escalated. That's when Dillard repeatedly hit her in the face and arms before grabbing her keys and fleeing. He was found and arrested after an investigation.
