Man Dies In Dale City House Fire, Police Investigating Death

A 73-year-old man was found dead in a Dale City house fire, according to Prince William County authorities.

DALE CITY, VA — One person died in a house fire Thursday morning in Dale City, according to Prince William County Fire and Rescue.

Around 6:22 a.m. Thursday, units responded to the 14100 block of Madrigal Drive, where a neighbor reported smoke in an adjoining townhouse. Firefighters searched the home and found a victim inside. The fire department said the victim had died.

Prince William County Police said the 73-year-old man was the homeowner. The man's identity was not released due to next-of-kin notifications.

There were no other occupants in the house, and no other injuries were reported. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire.

The fire marshal's office is investigating the cause of the fire, while Prince William Police are investigating the death. Police do not initially believe foul play was involved. The medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
