Man Shot in Woodbridge Motel Parking Lot

Police said shooting is not a random act

A 40-year-old Woodbridge main sustained two gunshot wounds Saturday morning in the parking lot of the Inns of Virginia.

The victim told police that he was sitting in his vehicle in the parking lot with his door open when an unknown men approached him and shot him.

The man was shot twice in the upper body and was taken to an area hospital. His injuries do not appear to be life threatening, said police.

Police said the victim was not able to provide a description of the shooter, but that the shooting was not a random act. An investigation continues.

Strong armed robbery: A 50-year-old Woodbridge woman was leaving Big Lots on Saturday when an unknown man approached her, stole her cell phone valued around $600 from her hands and fled across the street. Police are looking for a black male, between 14 and 17-years-old, 5-foot-6, 120 pounds of thin build. He was last seen wearing a black hat, dark-colored jacket, green sweatpants and carrying a black book bag.

Assault and Battery on Law Enforcement Officer: On Friday at 9:57 a.m., police responded to the 1300 block of Eisenhower Cir in Woodbridge for a domestic call. Police reports said that as officers were attempting to detain the accused, she became aggressive and kicked two officers. Minor injuries were reported. The accused was being arrested for domestic assault on a 42-year-old woman who resided at the residence. Flossie Duku was charged with two counts of assault & battery on LEO, domestic assault & battery and obstruction of justice.
