Man Steals Vehicle With Child Inside In Woodbridge: Police

Authorities are looking for an unknown man who stole a running vehicle with a 2-year-old child inside in Woodbridge, say PWC Police.

WOODBRIDGE, VA—Authorities are looking for an unknown man who stole a running vehicle with a 2-year-old child inside Saturday afternoon in the 13400 block of Jefferson Davis Highway, according to Prince William County Police. He's described as 6-0 and with short Afro hairstyle. He was wearing a white t-shirt with an image on the front, blue jeans and grey and white New Balance sneakers.

Shortly before 2:30 p.m., police were dispatched to the scene for a reported abduction. A 31-year-old woman said she left her sleeping child in the vehicle so she could quickly run inside a business without disturbing the toddler. After being in the store briefly, she saw her Toyota SUV being driven away with the child still inside.

Police found the vehicle and the uninjured child shortly thereafter, and the suspect fled in an unknown direction. An undisclosed amount of money was taken from the vehicle. Anyone with information is urged to call police at 703-792-6500.
