Neabsco District's Tracy Blake Chosen As Vice Chair Of PWC School Board

The Prince William County School Board elected a new vice chair to serve in 2025 at its Wednesday meeting.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — The Prince William County School Board is starting the new year with a new vice chair.

On Wednesday, the school board unanimously elected Tracy Blake to a one-year term as vice chair. Blake was first elected as the Neabsco District representative to the school board in November 2023. He replaces Coles District representative Lisa Zargarpur as vice chair.

According to Prince William County Public Schools, Blake has advocated for equitable education, mental health services, social-emotional learning and initiatives to improve communication between schools and families. He has served on the Superintendent’s Advisory Council on Instruction and the Superintendent’s Advisory Council on Equity for PWCS. Blake has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Lincoln University in Missouri and a master’s degree in applied industrial and organizational psychology from George Mason University. Blake and his partner, Latrice, live in Dale City with their three children, who are PWCS students.

The school board decides the vice chair but not the chair appointment. The chairman of the school board is Dr. Babur Lateef, who is elected by voters. Lateef is running for lieutenant governor of Virginia in 2025.
