WOODBRIDGE, VA—A woman was arrested Saturday afternoon, April 13, after barricading herself inside a room and then assaulting numerous officers at a home in the 15300 block of Grist Mill Terrace, according to Prince William County Police. Glenda Patricia Lopez Martinez, 33, of the same address, was charged with four counts of assault and battery on a law enforcement officer and one count of destruction of property.

Shortly after 4:30 p.m., police responded to the scene for a reported domestic incident. Family members said Lopez Martinez was acting incoherently and breaking property in the home before barricading herself in a room. After police arrived, they entered the room but the woman then threw an unknown liquid at them. It later was found to be water.

When officers tried to detain her, she kicked both of them before two more officers responded to assist. But the struggle continued as she repeatedly kicked towards police. After she finally was subdued, arrested and placed in the police cruiser, Lopez Martinez began to kick the door, causing interior damage. It was unclear what prompted her rage.
