OmniRide To Make Route Changes, Introduce Paratransit In Eastern PWC

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Eastern Prince William County and commuter buses around the region will soon see adjustments to bus service from OmniRide.

OmniRide, which provides bus service within Prince William County and to regional commuter destinations, said service changes to Express, Metro Express, and Local routes will take effect on June 10. One major change is introducing OmniRide Access paratransit service for people with disabilities in eastern Prince William County. That means regular buses in eastern Prince William County will no longer make off-route trips and on-demand stops. Paratransit services run within a three-quarter mile of local bus routes and are available to eligible residents who complete a registration process. Paratransit hours are Monday through Friday from 5:10 a.m. to 10:40 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 6:50 a.m. to 10:15 p.m.

The restructuring of local routes will affect eastern parts of the county, like Dale City, Woodbridge, Lake Ridge and Dumfries.

In addition, OmniRide will discontinue some stops on the Dale City, Woodbridge and Dumfries/Route 1 local routes.

The OmniRide Express and Metro Express, which connects Prince William County and the greater Fredericksburg area with regional destinations, will make a few adjustments to routes. Timetable adjustments will apply to the following routes: Dale City – Washington (971), Dale City – Pentagon & Rosslyn/Ballston/Crystal City (972), Dale City – Washington/Navy Yard (563), 612 Gainesville-Pentagon-L'Enfant Plaza-Navy Yard (612), Haymarket-Rosslyn/Ballston (622), Manassas - Washington (601), Manassas - Pentagon (602), Manassas-Dulles Corridor/Reston/Herndon (608), Prince William Metro Express (95), Stafford-Washington (L’Enfant) (943), Stafford-Washington (L’Enfant) (943), Stafford-Pentagon (942), Stafford-Washington State Dept (541), Falmouth-Rosslyn/Ballston (932), Spotsylvania-Navy Yard (923). The Dale City – Pentagon & Rosslyn/Ballston/Crystal City (972) route will also have new routing in Crystal City.
