Police Looking for Clues in Possibly Connected Attempted Rape, Burglary
Two incident happened at the Summerland Heights Apartments Thursday that have prompted police to issue a crime solvers alert

Police were out at the Summerland Heights Apartments off of Gableridge Turn in Woodbridge Thursday for an attempted rape and a burglary that may be connected.
Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said that the first reported incident occured at 12:55 a.m. at the 1800 block of Gableridge Turn in the apartment complex. Perok said police reported to a burglary in progress in which a man and woman, 26 and 24-years-old, awoke to their dog barking.
After they investigated, an unknown man was in their living room. Once spotted by the homeowners, the man fled out the window. Police suspect the man entered the apartment through an unlocked window. Prince William Police K-9 and the Fairfax Police helicopter were utilized but the man was not located. No injuries were reported and no items were reported missing.

In that incident, police are looking for a black man described as between 25 and 30-years-old, six-feet-tall, 250 pounds of heavy build. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, black jeans and a black skull cap.

Early Thursday morning, police responded to the same block of the apartment complex for an attempted rape.
At 6:45 a.m. on Thursday, a 38-year-old woman, reported to police that she woke up around 6:30 a.m. and found an unknown man inside of her bedroom, holding a kitchen knife. Police reports state that the man ordered the woman to remove her clothing. The victim told police the man reportedly touched her inappropriately before leaving the apartment.
Police say entry appears to have been gained through an unlocked window. Prince William Police K-9 was utilized but the man was not located.
Police are looking for a black man with medium complexion, described as in his 20s, five-feet, eight inches to five-feet, nine-inches-tall, 180 pounds of thin build. He was last seen wearing a tan ski style mask, black zip-up jacket, dark pants and tan construction-style gloves.
