DUMFRIES, VA—Authorities are investigating a possible hate crime in the overnight hours of Monday, April 1, at a home in the 15700 block of Crocus Lane, according to Prince William County Police. The owner's vehicle had a swastika etched into the driver's-side door.

Around 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to the residence for a reported vandalism incident. They found scratches on both front doors, including a "crudely drawn" swastika. The vehicle had been parked on the street near the home.

Also, on March 12, police received a report of swastikas having been drawn with chalk on a basketball court at Anne Moncure Park. Residents reported seeing a group of kids skateboarding in the area the night before the report. It's not known if the incidents are related. Anyone with information is urged to call police at 703-792-6500.
