Prince William County School Calendar For 2024-25: Key Dates To Know

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Summer is almost over for Woodbridge students. The first day of school in Prince William County Public Schools is Monday, Aug. 19.

According to the school district, families should be aware many new students will have different bus stops in the new school year. Transportation information will be shared on Aug. 12 in ParentVUE. Student schedules will be available in ParentVUE on Aug. 11 for elementary schools and Aug. 14 for secondary schools. One change to know will be a new policy restricting cell phone uses in select schools as part of a pilot program.

Students must have required vaccinations as of Aug. 15. On the mental health side, PWCS is working with Hazel Health to provide mental health care services to students at no cost to families. Families can opt-in for their student to receive services.

• Oct. 3: Rosh Hashanah holiday
• Oct. 14: Professional development day, no school for students
• Nov. 1: Diwali holiday
• Nov. 4: Parent conferences and professional development day, no school for students
• Nov. 5: Teacher work day, no school for students
• Nov. 11: Veterans Day holiday
• Nov. 27-29: Thanksgiving break
• Dec. 23-Jan. 3: Winter break
• Jan. 20: Martin Luther King Jr. holiday
• Jan. 21: Teacher work day, no school for students
• Jan. 22: Parent conferences and professional development day, no school for students
• Feb. 17: Presidents Day holiday
• March 28: Teacher work day, no school for students
• March 31: Eid al-Fitr holiday
• April 14-18: Spring break
• April 21: Teacher work day, no school for students
