Road Rage Dispute In Woodbridge Involves Gun: Police

Prince William County Police are searching for a driver who took out a gun during a road rage dispute in Woodbridge.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A driver displayed a gun during a road rage incident in Woodbridge last Friday, according to Prince William County Police.

Around 4:08 p.m. on Friday, March 28, officers responded to the road rage dispute at Optiz Boulevard and Gideon Drive. Police say two drivers had a dispute, leading the suspect to point a gun at toward the other driver, a 36-year-old man. The suspect did not fire any shots, and there were no reported injuries.

Police obtained arrest warrants for the suspect driver, Marshad D. Ledbetter, 29, of Triangle on a brandishing of a firearm charge. Police have not yet been able to locate the suspect. He is described as a Black man around 5 foot 10 and 180 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

A brandishing a firearm charge is considered a Class 1 misdemeanor in Virginia. However, an incident on school grounds or public property within 1,000 feet of the school grounds can result in a Class 1 felony charge.

Reckless Handling of a Firearm: On March 31 at 8:55PM, officers responded to The Crossings at Summerland Apartments located in the 13700 block of Keelingwood Cl. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shots fired call. The investigation revealed the accused fired multiple rounds into the air after a verbal altercation with an acquaintance. Officers located the accused inside her vehicle where she was detained without incident. No injuries or property damage were reported. The firearm was recovered. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Tyra Tedder, was arrested. Arrested on March 31:
