Man Shot After Arranging Tinder Meetup In Dale City: Police

A man who arranged to meet a woman on the Tinder dating app was shot by an unknown man, according to Prince William County Police.

DALE CITY, VA — A man arranged to meet a woman from the Tinder dating app in person. Instead, he encountered two unknown suspects and was shot.

Prince William County Police responded around 7:03 p.m. Monday to the area of Forestdale Avenue and Dale Boulevard, where the shooting happened earlier in the evening. Police say a 27-year-old man set up a meeting with a woman he met on Tinder. When the man was walking in the area, two unknown men approached, and one shot the victim. The suspects assaulted the victim and took his property before fleeing.

The suspect left the area and went to the hospital, where police were notified. Police did not provide an update on the victim's condition. Jewelry and clothing were reported missing from the victim.

The suspects were described as a Black man around 6 foot 2 and 18 to 25 years old wearing a red hooded sweatshirt with white lettering and a Hispanic man around 5 foot 7 with a tattoo on his right arm and wearing a gray Nike tech-style hooded sweatshirt and sweatpants.

Strong-Arm Robbery: On December 9 at 4:22PM, officers responded to the Colonial Port Mobile Home Park located in the 12900 block of Occoquan Rd. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed the victim, a 15-year-old male juvenile, was walking in the above area when he was approached and assaulted by two male juveniles who took his belt and shoes before leaving the area. The victim reported minor injuries. This incident does not appear to be random.

Strong-Arm Robbery: On December 4 at 10:46AM, officers responded to the Food Lion located at 14641 Richmond Hwy. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed a store employee confronted an unknown man, later identified as the accused, attempting to leave the store with unpaid items. During the encounter, the accused verbally threatened to bomb the store before leaving the area. While investigating the incident, officers identified the accused and obtained arrest warrants. On December 6, the accused attempted to flee from officers when he was being detained for shoplifting at a separate business. The accused was eventually detained and found in possession of suspected illegal narcotics. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Dwayne Andre Bolden, was arrested.
