Volunteer Opportunity: Community Clean Ups Scheduled

Saturday, April 21 community groups from across the Woodbridge District will participate in the Annual Route 1 Cleanup effort sponsored by Supervisor Frank Principi, Keep Prince William Beautiful, and the Woodbridge Potomac Communities Civic Association.
Volunteers, both individual and church groups, as well as Marines from Quantico will pick up litter along the Route 1 corridor from the Occoquan River to the Stafford County line.

Volunteers will meet at 8:30 a.m. at various meeting locations along Route 1, including the Kiss and Ride lot at the Woodbridge VRE Station, Marumsco Plaza, or Daniel Stewart Square.

In addition to the Route 1 Cleanup, two Community Dumpster Days are planned. Supervisor Principi, the Woodbridge Potomac Communities Civic Association (WPCCA), and Neighborhood Services Division will provide dumpsters at on May 19 and at River Oaks Fire Hall on June 23 from 8 a.m. to noon. Residents can use this free resource to discard old furniture, appliances, tires, electronics, yard debris, etc. Please note that no hazardous, chemical, or commercial waste will be accepted. As a new addition to the event, there will also be a shredder truck at the Fred Lynn Middle School location to accept paper trash or sensitive documents.
