
The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement Thursday for wind conditions, with gusts up to 40 miles per hour expected in the afternoon hours.
"The region will remain sandwiched in between two systems leading to a tight surface pressure gradient resulting in windy conditions today," said the statement.
NWS said southwest winds would increase to between 20 and 30 miles per hour with gusts up to 40 miles per hour by mid to late morning.

The winds are predicted to stick around through the afternoon hours and will be breezy this evening.
