WOODBRIDGE, VA—There's something about the number "10" that's appealing to Bernard Blancada of Rockville, Md. For example, his infant was born on Oct. 10. So when the construction worker recently went to Tobacco County at 14332 Jefferson Davis Highway and bought a Virginia Lottery ticket, he chose the one in the 10th slot on the display—a "10x The Money" scratch-off ticket.

You can guess the rest. Yep, Blanada's ticket was a winning one worth $100,000. His chances of winning were 1 in 1,049,143.
