15 Violations At Restaurant: Woodbridge Restaurant Inspections

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Health inspectors found up to 15 violations at some restaurants during recent inspections in the Woodbridge area.

• There were no vomiting and diarrhea events clean up procedures in this facility during the inspection.
• There was no soap at the handwashing sink in front.
• Observed the handwashing sink was used as a storage for sushi cutting board.
• Observed the sign that notifies food employees to wash their hands was not clearly visible to food employees on the handwashing sink in front under the sushi fish display case.
• There were no individual disposable paper towels or anything for employees to dry their hands after washing at the handwashing sink in front.
• There were no written procedures for time and temperature control with potentially hazardous food. In this case ready to eat foods such as sushi and cooked rice not on cold or hot holding.
• There was no food thermometer to ensure attainment and maintenance of food temperatures in the food establishment.
• Observed there were no reading thermometers in the 2-door reach-in drink refrigerator and in the fish restock display case.
• Observed the following foods were stored on the floor in the walk-in cooler: Udom broth, Kim chi, miso both, and ramen broth.
• Observed wet in-use cloths were stored on the white cutting board on the top of the pre cooler.
• Observed the ice scoop was stored inside the ice bin and in contact with ice.
• Observed a black non-working small refrigerator in the food establishment.
• There was no test kit or another device to measure the concentration of sanitizing solutions in the food establishment.
• Observed the small oven on the shelf across from sushi prep table is dirty and needs cleaning.
