Bellevue Arts Museum Seeks Performers for Event Inspired by Asian Art

Performers Needed: The is looking for Pan-Asia oriented performers for an upcoming community celebration on March 25th (5-9pm). Music, dance, fashion, martial arts... we're open to all ideas. There is some pay. Performances should be no longer than 20 minutes! Email tanjab@bellevuearts.org to learn more.

What is Finally Friday?: The event features DJs, cocktails, gallery talks and a variety of performances that tie with the exhibitions on view. It's held three times a year and attracts anywhere from 300 to 550 young adults from the Eastside and Seattle. The format of the event is designed to be engaging, fun and all-arts inclusive. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for students/seniors and $5 for members.

For more information, check out a YouTube video of a recent event. This particular Finally Friday was held in conjunction with a shoe design exhibit and featured a fashion show.

How can I get involved?: The March Finally Friday will be held in conjunction with a huge retrospective on Chinese-born artist Wanxin Zhang. We're looking for 3 - 5 dynamic performances that will celebrate Asian culture and bring it closer to our audiences. Ideas include traditional or contemporary Asian music, dance, fashion as well as martial arts and any other art-related discipline! Performances should be no longer than 20 minutes and can take place either in the Museum's Forum or up in the galleries.

Why participate?: It's great exposure and an opportunity to connect with new audiences. Participants are promoted via BAM's website, e-newsletter and social media as well as on-site. Additionally, every participant receives a total of 10 half-priced tickets ($5) for their own constituencies.
