Sport Clips NW Developers Honored by Parent Company

Sport Clips, the nation’s leader in men’s and boy’s hair care, named Washington and Oregon Area Developers Phil and Laurie Brown Sport Clips Area Developers of the Year. The award was announced at the franchise’s annual huddle on March 8, 2011 which recognizes achievements among the more than 750 Sport Clips locations throughout the country.

Phil and Laurie Brown have served as Northwest area developers for the past five years. They currently oversee the operation of 20 stores in Washington and Oregon with four more stores scheduled to open in Washington and Oregon in the next few months.

“Laurie and I are honored to be named Area Developers of the Year because we believe so strongly in the Sport Clips concept and business model,” said Sports Clips NW Area Developer Phil Brown. “We take great pride in the Northwest stores and are always advising in the hiring of dedicated managers, honing the skills of talented stylists and growing their clientele. Our success is due to the hard work and dedication of every manger, stylist and team leader in our area.”

Also recognized at the Annual Huddle was Sport Clips NW Coach Morgan Little of Everett, Wash., who was named Sport Clips’ National Rookie Coach of the Year. Northwest stores honored at the Annual Huddle include the Eugene, Ore. store as runner-up for the Client Count Increase 2009-2010 award and the Kirkland store as runner-up for the Highest Take-Home per Client award for new stores opened in 2010. The store was awarded Sport Clips President’s Circle status for exceptional performance in the top 10 percent of the country.

This year’s Sport Clips Annual Huddle drew the largest crowd in its 16-year history with 1,350 in attendance, including Founder and CEO Gordan Logan. At the Annual Huddle, Logan announced that Sport Clips will have sold $1 billion in haircuts this summer and that company-wide, same-store sales are up 10 percent this quarter in comparison to last. In 2010, Sport Clips ranked in the top 100 of Entrepreneur Magazine’s “Franchise 500” and in the top 50 “Fastest Growing Franchises” for the sixth straight year
