During the week of July 18-22, some 325 Symetra Financial employees mobilized across the Puget Sound region in support of local communities during the third annual “Symetra Week of Service.”
Wearing bright green Symetra Week of Service T-shirts, employee volunteers logged a collective 1,240 hours over five days to help build homes, clear trails, tutor kids, paint, clean and organize on behalf of 14 nonprofit organizations.
Two Bellevue organizations drew enthusiastic Symetra volunteer crews. From Monday, July 18, through Wednesday, July 20, some 40 employees working morning and afternoon shifts helped sort food donations at Hopelink Food Bank. Another 30 volunteers threw their energies into spreading bark and pruning canine walking trails at the from Tuesday, July 19, thru Thursday, July 21. “Your group made a tremendous difference with the overall appearance of our campus,” wrote Mike Conklin, director of Facilities at the Humane Society. “We greatly appreciated all of your help!”
