UPDATE: Bellevue Traffic Backs Up After Collision Blocks Southbound Interstate 405

A collision blocked two lanes of southbound Interstate 405 just north of 112th Ave SE for about an hour. Aid units and the Washington State Patrol are on the scene.

Two people suffered minor injuries and a driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Saturday night after a two-vehicle collision on southbound Interstate 405 that resulted in a rollover, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Around 8:30 p.m., the driver of a Ford Escort drifted onto the right shoulder of I-405 just north of 112th Ave. SE, said Sgt. Keith Trowbridge. The Escort overcorrected back into the lanes and struck a Ford F-350, sending it across the lanes to strike the median, he said. The pickup rolled over, landed on its wheels and ended up on the right side of the freeway with the Escort, he said.

The passengers in the pickup, a husband and wife, suffered minor injuries in the crash and were taken to Overlake Medical Center, Trowbridge said. The driver of the Escort was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, Trowbridge said. The passenger in the Escort was not injured, he said.
