Bellevue's Aaron Bright Sends A Message Back Home
The Bellevue High grad is doing big things at Stanford, but Patch Editor Brent Champaco couldn't resist putting him on the spot after the Cardinal's game at the Pac-12 Tournament in Los Angeles.
Even amid the bright lights of Los Angeles, Aaron Bright isn't forgetting his roots anytime soon.
The Bellevue High grad plays basketball for the Stanford Cardinals, and in fact, he's starring for them. And who can blame him for heading south? Sunny weather. Beautiful beaches nearby. Dancing tree mascots. Palo Alto can be a big draw for anyone.
So, after Stanford wrapped up its game Wednesday at the Pac-12 Tournament, I caught up with Aaron in the tunnel of the Staples Center. Actually, I played Patch safety and intercepted him as he was talking with an assistant coach.

He didn't have much time to talk. He had to go back to the team hotel. So my line of questioning had to be hard-hitting and quick.
I played no shorts. I pointedly, directly asked him, right to his face:

By the way, Aaron helped the Cardinals rout Arizona State, 85-65. He collected 11 points, five assists and, most importantly, no turnovers.
