Our efforts to undo institutionalized racism are often time consuming, exhausting and lonely work leaving us with little time for self reflection and rejuvenation. This 3-day workshop provides the opportunity for people of color who are actively engaged in racial justice work to come together to work deeply on their own issues of internalized racism. During our time together we will co-create a safe community where your spirits will be renewed and your commitment to racial justice strengthened. We will be at a retreat center away from our daily lives to re-center our work, priorities, and our resolve to change this society.
Objectives
Participants Will...
- Develop deeper understanding of the impact of oppression and racism on self and others;
- Work towards healing their own wounds and brokenness as well as aid in healing the racial divide;
- Gain knowledge of concrete ways to fight racism through allyship.
