Summer Nights

"I want to bring Avant-Garde fashion to Washington." That's what emerging designer Nune Hov says about her latest fashion show. And she's not talking about Washington D.C., she's talking about the small unassuming northwestern state that has, up to now, never been associated with high end fashion. And she just might do it.

While there have been many attempts to showcase fashion in Seattle, none have come close to the intensity that Hov is putting into her show, Summer Nights. Hov isn't new to the world of fashion shows, just last year she debuted her first show, the Northwest Networking Event (NNU). The show was a huge success, and Hov is looking to make this show just as good, if not better then the one before.

"There are many things that make a show great, but the biggest thing that makes a show great is the people. And we had many talented people at our show last year," says Hov. She's sure that this year, with a mix of designers including Project Red Dress award winner Gingerllyn Bellus and contemporary artist Vu Nguyen, she once again has the talent to make this show a success.

Among the things that will be at the event, held on June 18th, from 7 - 10 PM Highland Community Center, 14224 Bel-Red Rd. Bellevue, WA, is the live music from Fusion, a jazz band led by Max Levin, and raffle prizes that include an original art package from modern surrealist Mariam Hovhannisyan.

Nune Hov is an Avant-Garde designer centered in Redmond, Washington. She has been designing garments for several years, and has opened a company to sell her original designs, Nune Hov Couture. Her show-making career began three years ago, starting with helping positions and moving her way to producing her own shows, as well as having a seat on the board of directors for the Russian American Community Center (RACC).
