Lake Hills Blueberry Festival Caps off Summer, Gears Up for Fall
The fourth annual Lake Hills Blueberry Festival, a back-to-school celebration from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 27 at Lake Hills Elementary School.
The fourth annual Lake Hills Blueberry Festival, a back-to-school celebration for a community strengthened by family services provided at the local school, will be on Saturday, Aug. 27.
Set for 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at , 14310 SE 12th St., the event will feature a free blueberry waffle breakfast from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. followed by free family activities including:
- Live music, games, arts and crafts, face painting and a visit from "Balloon Buffoon;"
- Assistance and information about a variety of human services programs from local providers;
- Interactive demonstrations and a tour to help children and families learn the ins and outs of riding a school bus for the first time;
- Visits from Bellevue police and firefighters; and
- "Blueberry Lane" where art, produce and blueberry pie will be available for purchase.
In addition, Lake Hills Elementary teachers will be available from 10 to 11:30 a.m. to meet with students and their families.

Lake Hills Elementary is home to the Wrap-Around Services Program, a collaboration of the city, school district, United Way and East Bellevue Community Council. The school is a hub for programs and services to meet the needs of area children and families.
Visitors are also encouraged to take a short walk to the neighboring Jubilee REACH Center (14200 SE 13th Pl.) to shop a yard sale and participate in a raffle for free back-to-school haircuts. Elementary-school students can receive a free dental screening from an on-site dental van.

Parking is limited, so visitors are encouraged to walk, ride the bus or carpool. The event is cosponsored by the City of Bellevue, Bellevue School District, United Way of King County, Lake Hills Neighborhood Association, and Jubilee REACH Center.
