• How a closed door helped Bellevue family safely escape a house fire (kiro7.com) — A Bellevue family in the Newport neighborhood escaped a bedroom fire after a charging portable battery pack ignited, and firefighters even rescued their cat. Crews say a closed bedroom door dramatically slowed flames, heat, and toxic smoke, limiting spread and aiding the family’s escape, though the home suffered extensive damage. Bellevue Fire is still investigating the exact cause.
