Patch Picks: Halloween Fun in Bellevue
Looking for a place to show off your fabulous costume? Here are a few Halloween destinations in Bellevue.
All dressed up in your Halloween finery and looking for a place to go? There are family events for Halloween 2011 throughout this week in Bellevue that celebrate the spooky time of year.
As you head out to one of these events, or out into your neighborhoods, don't forget to snap a photo. Youngsters up to age 12 with creative costumes also can take the opportunity to enter in . Winners can get $1,031 for their favorite local charity, and a lucky winner will meet Heidi in New York or Los Angeles.
Oct. 26
will feature Little Bookworms Spooktacular this Wednesday with family-friendly events throughout the day. Get dressed up and have Halloween photos taken on the red carpet, go trick-or-treating and enjoy fun activities throughout the day, including cookie decorating, story telling and live music by The-Not-Its. Trick or treating will be from noon to 8 p.m. at select merchants. Events are located in Suite 115.

Oct. 27
The will host a Spooktacular this Thursday at 5 p.m. The museum is located at the Market Place at Factoria.
Oct. 28

Owl Prowl-Family Hike: Oct. 28, 7 to 8:30 p.m. at . Bring a flashlight and take a ranger-led night hike to listen for owls and other nocturnal wildlife in the park. Ages 6+. $3; pre-registration is required. For more information, call 425-452-4195.

Oct. 29
The will celebrate Dia de los Muertos, or the traditional Mexican holiday Day of the Dead, during this weekend's Family Day. The free event will be from 1-4 p.m. Saturday. Come with the entire family and celebrate all things fall, and get free admission to the galleries and artist demonstrations. Ages 4 - 12.
Check out the at Lake Hills' that starts at 5 pm on Saturday, Oct. 29, with “trunk or treating” in the Samena's parking lot with prizes for "best costume" and “best car decoration.” Register for this event by Oct. 25. Tickets start at $6 and families should call for prices.

Halloween takes on a "Cars II" theme this year with free DVDs as one of the many prizes for the kids. A Halloween Carnival at Your Local Market Oct. 30 and 31 will benefit Camp Korey. The carnival fundraiser will offer lots of free activities including pumpkins, face painting, pony rides, carnival games, bouncy house and arts and crafts.
