Reminder: Weekend SR 520 Bridge Closure Follows UW Huskies Game; Bridge Reopens Monday

The bridge will be completely closed at 8 p.m. tonight following the University of Washington Husky football game and is slated to reopen at 5 a.m. Monday morning.

This weekend's closure of the State Route 520 bridge is slated to start tonight at 8 p.m. and both directions are slated to reopen at 5 a.m. Monday, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The usual Friday night closure was postponed because the University of Washington Huskies will take on the University of Colorado Buffaloes at Husky Stadium. The game starts at 12:30 p.m.

Both directions of the State Route 520 bridge will be closed between Montlake Boulevard in Seattle and I-405 in Bellevue next weekend, the transportation agency said.

This closure is related to the . The closure is due to the removal of the west half of the Bellevue Way bridge, according to WSDOT, which will require the bridge to be completely closed.

This weekend, crews will work on installing girders for a new highway lid in Medina. More information on the Eastside Transit and HOV Project can be found on the WSDOT website.

The closure is set to take place beginning at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, and end by 5 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 17. WSDOT says it delayed the start of the closure to accommodate a football game at Husky Stadium earlier on Saturday.

WSDOT says the next full closure of the 520 bridge will take place Nov. 5-7.
