Bellevue Police: Eight-Hour Standoff Sparked After Man Violates Mom's Protection Order
A 48-year-old man violated a protection order and locked himself in his mother's Crossroads home. The standoff ended before 2 p.m., after eight hours.

Bellevue police have been facing off since about 6:15 a.m. Wednesday with a man who locked himself in his mother's home, violating a protection order, according to the Bellevue Police Department.
The road between 17400 and 17600 blocks of Northeast 10th Street are closed while police try to get the man to leave the home, said police spokeswoman Office Carla Iafrate. It is unknown how long the standoff will continue, Iafrate said.

There are no known weapons in the home, she said.
The man's mother is out of the home and safe, Iafrate said.
"We're trying to handle it as safely as possible," she said.
