• City of Centralia recognizes three departing councilors (chronline.com) — Centralia’s city council is saying goodbye to three members and welcoming their successors, who take office Jan. 1 and will be sworn in Jan. 13. Outgoing councilors Max Vogt, Mark Westley and Sarah Althauser were honored for years of service, community engagement, and leadership through floods, COVID-19 and major city planning efforts.
   

• Man accused of 'egregious' beating outside Centralia Inn (thenewstribune.com) — A man is facing serious assault and false-statement charges after a violent, camera-recorded attack in the parking lot of the Centralia Inn, with Lewis County prosecutors calling the incident “egregious.” Local court officials weighed his lack of record against public safety concerns before setting bail at $25,000 and scheduling an arraignment in Lewis County Superior Court.
