Echo Glen To Review Security After Escape Attempt
Two teens, 14 and 16, briefly escaped custody at Echo Glen Children's Center in Snoqualmie Thursday night.

SNOQUALMIE, WA — The Echo Glen Children's Center in Snoqualmie will reportedly review its security protocols after two teens escaped custody Thursday night.
One of the teens, a 14-year-old, was serving a sentence for gang-related murder and felony gun possession. The other escapee, a 16-year-old, was serving a sentence for robbery.
The teens were reportedly in the juvenile detention facility's gym when they took off running into the nearby forest.

Detention center staff reportedly spent about 30 minutes searching for the teens before calling the King County Sheriff's Office for assistance.
A security guard reportedly used a flashlight to search for the teen while waiting for deputies to arrive, eventually finding them just as deputies got to the detention center. The guard detained the teens until deputies helped return them to the facility.

Sheriff's officials reportedly said the teens got out in an area without security fencing.
