Edmonds Crash Suspect Arrested: Police
The suspect told officers he was drinking at a nearby business before allegedly causing the crash that injured a woman from Seattle.

EDMONDS, WA — Following his Wednesday night arrest, the man suspected of causing the crash on Highway 99 Monday evening told Edmonds police investigators he was drinking at a nearby establishment shortly before the collision that left one woman injured. After the crash, the man said he fled because he was scared.
The unnamed suspect, a 36-year-old man from Mount Vernon, was taken to Snohomish County Jail and charged with hit and run, vehicular assault, ignition interlock violation (stemming from previous DUI convictions), and driving with a suspended license.
The crash investigation began around 5:15 p.m. Monday, when Edmonds police were dispatched to the 23600-block of Highway 99 on the report of a two-car crash involving one woman and a man who ran from the scene.

The woman, a 41-year-old from Seattle, reportedly sustained face and body injuries in the collision. She was taken to Harborview Medical Center, treated, and released later Monday night, police said.
Police searched for the suspect at the time but were unable to locate him. The suspect's car was impounded and investigators obtained a search warrant to identify the owner.

On Wednesday, police visited a home in Bellevue where the suspect was apparently staying. He was arrested and taken back to the Edmonds Police Department before his booking at Snohomish County Jail.
