Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 402 calls the week of Aug. 22-28.

Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 402 calls the week of Aug. 22-28: 307 emergency medical aid calls, 21 motor vehicle collisions, 22 fires, 17 service calls, 4 natural gas leaks, 1 technical rescue and 30 automatic fire alarms.

August 22

DUMPSTER FIRE:  At 10:14 p.m., firefighters extinguished a Dumpster fire at the loading dock of Edmonds Woodway High School. The fire set off an alarm and activated a fire sprinkler, which prevented damage to the building. No one was injured.

DUMPSTER FIRE:  At 1:44 a.m., firefighters extinguished a Dumpster fire at 128th Street SE and 3rd Avenue SE south of Everett.

COLLISION:  At 11:27 a.m., firefighters responded to a collision in the 7600 block of Lake Ballinger Way in Edmonds.  One person was injured and was taken by medic unit to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

COLLISION:  At 5:52 p.m., a two-car collision was reported at 9th Avenue S and Pine Street in Edmonds.  One person was injured and was taken by medic unit to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

August 25

HOUSE FIRE:  At 5:14 p.m., a house fire was reported in the 13600 block of 26th Place W north of Lynnwood.  Occupants safely exited the house. Firefighters extinguished a small fire in the crawl space. Damage is estimated at $40,000. The Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s office determined the fire was started by a grow lamp left on a carpeted floor.

Fire District 1 is the largest provider of fire and emergency medical services in Snohomish County, with full-time staffing at 12 fire stations. The department serves nearly 200,000 residents in unincorporated south Snohomish County, Brier, Edmonds, Mountlake Terrace and Woodway.
