Saturday's SVC Roundup: Women's basketball team beats Edmonds (thenewstribune.com) — College basketball fans in Edmonds saw Skagit Valley College sweep the Edmonds Tritons, with the women winning 73-62 and the men 91-58 in Northwest Athletic Conference North Region play. Both games were played in Edmonds, where Skagit Valley’s strong fourth quarter and second-half defense sealed the victories and kept the Cardinals unbeaten in region competition.

Marko Liias will play a central role in shaping how Washington pays for major bridge, road, and ferry repairs as lawmakers confront a projected $12–16 billion budget shortfall. State leaders are debating a proposed millionaire’s income tax, bonding for transportation fixes, and whether climate-program dollars should be redirected to infrastructure and family tax credits in the 2026 session.
