STANWOOD, Wash. – Yesterday, the Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit (SIU) detectives arrested a 26-year-old Stanwood man for three counts of third-degree child rape.
In 2017 and 2018, the suspect was working as a youth pastor at a church in Arlington where the 15-year-old victim was attending. The suspect, then-22-years-old, began grooming the victim while driving her home after church and communicating with the victim through social media.
Through the investigation, SIU detectives developed probable cause to arrest the 26-year-old suspect for three counts of third-degree child rape.
Detectives believe there may be additional victims. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 425-388-3845.
