Drivers Should Expect Nighttime Detours At State Route 16 and South Sprague
Crews are installing new lighting components as part of the Washington State Department of Transportation's I-5/SR 16 Eastbound Nalley Valley project.

Two ramps at the State Route 16/South Sprague Avenue interchange will close during night hours several nights this week while crews install new lighting components as part of the Washington State Department of TransportationβsΒ I-5/SR 16 Eastbound Nalley ValleyΒ project.
Each night fromΒ Monday, Aug. 12 through Thursday, Aug 15, crews will close two ramps at the interchange.Β AtΒ 10 p.m., they will close the South Sprague Avenue on-ramp to westbound SR 16, and an hour later atΒ 11 p.m.Β they will also close the eastbound SR 16 exit to South Sprague Avenue. The eastbound exit to Sprague will reopen each following morning atΒ 4 a.m., and the Sprague on-ramp to westbound SR 16 will reopen two hours later atΒ 6 a.m.Β The allowable times for the ramp closures are based on traffic volumes.

- From 12:01 a.m. to 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, crews will close all lanes of eastbound SR 16 at South Union Avenue and the Union Avenue on-ramp to eastbound SR 16. The closure will be repeated fromΒ 12:01 a.m. to 7 a.m.Β on Sunday, Aug. 11.
- From 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, until 7 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, South Center Street will again be closed and motorists will use the same detour route.
