• Senior center construction could begin in 2028 (gigharbornow.org) — A long-awaited new Gig Harbor senior center and intergenerational campus is planned for Point Fosdick Drive and 36th Street NW, with construction targeted to begin in 2028. The Greater Gig Harbor Foundation envisions a senior hub, community event space, environmental learning center, trails, and conservation land, and is now organizing fundraising, naming input, and a January open house for residents.
   

• Officers arrest man found smoking drugs with baby in back seat (gigharbornow.org) — Gig Harbor police recently arrested a man who allegedly used drugs while his baby sat in the back seat of a car on Point Fosdick Drive, and handled several other local incidents. Federal prosecutors also charged suspects in post office burglaries affecting nearby Fox Island and Olalla. The blotter highlights DUI and shoplifting cases involving Gig Harbor residents and businesses.
   

• High school girls soccer: The News Tribune's 2025 All-Area team (thenewstribune.com) — Several standout Gig Harbor High girls soccer players earned spots on The News Tribune’s 2025 All-Area teams, including first-team forward Karin Heikkila, midfielder Elizabeth Hayes, and defender Sage Sturrock.
