Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One Receives Grant for Extrication Training

The $5,000.00 Safe Neighbors Grant goes toward equipment purchasing, instruction costs and training props.

β€œCrunch Time”, a 100% hands-on extrication class hosted by Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One has been awarded a Safe Neighbors Grant from State Farm Insurance.Β 

This is the sixth consecutive year β€œCrunch Time” has been awarded this grant. The $5,000.00 Safe Neighbors Grant goes toward equipment purchasing, instruction costs and training props.

Over the past eight years, State farm Insurance has also donated more than ninety (90) totaled vehicles to β€œCrunch Time” including a 2004 Toyota Prius that has been utilized as a cut-a-way prop showing the workings and components of a hybrid vehicle.Β

Β β€œCrunch Time” 2012 is being held September 15-16, 2012, at Headquarters Station 50. Our goal is to provide a safe and challenging learning environment for firefighters.Β
