The biggest story in Gig Harbor today is a decision by the city to change Gig Harbor's code and allow the construction of homeless shelters. The change comes as a result of a new state law, which requires cities across Washington to set up emergency shelters for people experiencing homelessness. The change will also help the county government in its effort to end on-street homelessness by November.
