Gig Harbor Man Gets 4 Months In Jail For Road Rage Incident
Robert Shaw, 51, will spend 4 months in a Grays Harbor County jail for a road rage incident he recorded on his own dash cam in March.

GIG HARBOR, WA — A Gig Harbor man was sentenced to four months in jail in Grays Harbor County on Monday after he was found guilty of assault and malicious mischief stemming from a road rage incident on SR 12 this past March.
Robert Lewis Shaw, 51, was convicted based on video evidence that came from his own dash cam, which recorded the road rage incident as it unfolded on the morning of March 20.
According to The Daily World out of Grays Harbor County, Shaw used his 2003 Dodge Dakota to intentionally ram John E. Gibson's 2015 Subaru Crosstrek while the pair were stuck in fog-related traffic on SR 12 near the Monte Brady Road exit.

Gibson, a Seattle resident who works as an attorney in Aberdeen, apparently saw Shaw following too closely and gave him a brake-check in the hopes he'd back off. Instead of backing off, however, Shaw is heard in the video saying, "Hey, man, you want to hit your brakes in the fast lane?"
Shaw's dash cam then reportedly recorded him accelerating into the rear of Gibson's car. After the collision, Gibson pulled off to the side of the road to call 911.

"Don't go slower, I’ll push your (expletive) car," Shaw said in the video.
Shaw then pulled onto the shoulder in front of Gibson and put his truck in reverse, striking the front of Gibson's car.
After the reverse collision, Shaw can be heard offering a disingenuous, "Oops."
Prosecutors originally asked for Shaw's sentence to be the maximum of nine months for the charges. Shaw's defense, on the other hand, requested the minimum of three months. With no criminal record to speak of, Shaw was given four months, which he began serving immediately.
