Gig Harbor Police Department to Carry Special Olympics Torch
This event is designed to raise awareness for the Special Olympics program.

On Thursday, May 30, members of the Gig Harbor Police Department will carry the Special Olympics Torch (known as the βFlame of Hopeβ) through our city and across The Narrows Bridge. This event is designed to raise awareness for the Special Olympics program.
The torch is carried by members of the local and federal law enforcement agencies throughout the state. Local law enforcement agencies include the Gig Harbor Police Department, Washington State Patrol, Kitsap County Sheriffβs Department and the Pierce County Sheriffβs Department.
Look for the torch as it is picked up by GHPD members in the area of Borgen Boulevard and Burnham Drive around 4 p.m. on Thursday. It will be carried down Burnham β along Harborview Drive and Soundview Drive β and across the bridge.
