Gig Harbor Police Respond to Graffiti in Multiple Places

Shoplifting/Arrest: On April 6, police responded to Kohl's in reference to a shoplifting. The store employee saw the male suspect enter the fitting room and leave. The employee found hard tags on the floor for three pairs of pants. When the employee tried to stop him, the man got in his car and left. The license plate came back to a Joint Base Lewis-McChord address. According to military police, the 24-year-old man was a member of the 1-14th Cavalry Alpha Troop and had been AWOL for about two weeks. Police later learned that the man was staying at a home in the 7000 block of 86th Street Court NW. The man was arrested for third-degree theft.
Theft/Arrest: On April 11, a 15 year-old and 14-year-old girls at Gig Harbor High School were suspended for stealing $220 in cash from the gym locker. They were ordered to return the money, but they told police they had been spent some of the money. One of the girls was arrested for third-degree theft.

Residential Burglary: Sometime between April 9 and 15, an unknown suspect entered a garage in the 11200 block of Borgen Loop and stole a drill and mountain bike. The thief also took a spare key and two starter pistols used at track and field events.
Shoplifting/Liquor Law Violation/Arrest: On April 12, police responded to a shoplifter running from Harbor Greens with the manager chasing him. Police located the 18-year-old man at the Olympic Drive overpass. Police recovered a backpack that contained two bottles of vodka worth a total of $58. The man was cited for minor in possession and third-degree theft.

Vandalism: Sometime between April 12 and 13, an unknown suspect(s) spray painted "OK" to the victim's car in the 3300 block of Erickson Street. The suspect also tagged similar marks on the several other cars in the lot. Police believe the incidents are related to several vandalism cases. Sometime between April 12 and 15, an unknown suspect(s) spray painted "OGK" on two walls in the underground parking lot in the 6800 block of Kimball Drive. The Gig Harbor Skate Park also had the same tag during this time frame.
Shoplifting: On April 12, an unknown suspect(s) stole an ASUS Transformer Pad, valued $349.99, from GameStop.
Vehicle Prowl: On April 17, the victim left his car at the Kimball Park and Ride and when he returned, the catalytic converter had been cut off and stolen.
Vehicle Prowl: On April 10, a Home Depot employee parked his car on the west side of the lot unsecured. When he returned, his backpack was missing. The thief dumped the books out of the bag and stole his iPod, wallet and a wireless mouse.
Vehicle Prowl: Sometime between April 11 and 12, an unknown suspect(s) broke the left rear window of a car in the 3200 block of 56th Street NW and stole a CD player from the dashboard.
Vehicle Prowl: Sometime between April 14 and 15, an unknown suspect(s) stole a laptop, mobile printer and three notebooks from an unlocked car in the 3200 block of Harborview Drive.
Vehicle Prowl: Sometime between April 14 and 15, an unknown suspect(s) entered two cars that were parked in the driveway in the 9500 block of Randall Drive. The thief only took a multi-tool from one of the cars.
Shoplifting: On April 16, police were dispatched to Albertsons in reference to a shoplifting. The store employees saw a man take about $110 worth of alcohol on April 4. The same suspect also concealed about $260 worth of alcohol on April 12. However, when he saw the employees watching him, he returned the alcohol and left.
DUI/Arrest: On April 16, a 42-year-old man was arrested for DUI in the 3400 block of 57th Street Court NW.
