Gig Harbor Woman Hurt In Snowmobile Crash At Yellowstone

A 21-year-old woman from Gig Harbor sustained injuries to her neck, back, and ribs when she crashed her snowmobile near West Yellowstone.

GALLATIN COUNTY, MT - A Gig Harbor woman was injured while snowmobiling near West Yellowstone last week after she collided with another snowmobiler at an intersection. The unidentified 21-year-old reportedly sustained injuries to her neck, back, and ribs in the crash, though Patch has not been able to confirm her current condition.

The Gallatin County Sheriff's Office said the crash occurred roughly 10 miles northwest of West Yellowstone shortly after 3:30 p.m. Dec. 26. The injured woman's mother reportedly called the West Yellowstone Police Department to report the crash, noting her daughter was ejected from the snowmobile during the collision.

Officials from the Gallatin Sheriff’s Search and Rescue team in West Yellowstone, the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife, and Parks, and the Hebgen Basin Fire Department responded to the incident. The woman was later transported to Big Sky Medical Center in Big Sky, Montana.
