Jill Guernsey to Kick Off Bid for Gig Harbor Mayor
Gig Harbor City Councilwoman Jill Guernsey will be kicking off her campaign for mayor on Thursday, April 25.
Gig Harbor City Council member Jill Guernsey will be launching her mayoral campaign next Thursday, April 25.
The public event on Thursday will take place at Java & Clay Café on 3210 Harborview Dr. from 5 to 7 p.m.
Guernsey, who was elected to the city council position No. 4 in November 2011, has served on thePeninsula School District Board from 2000 to 2010 and the Gig Harbor Planning Commission from 2005 to 2011.

Earlier this year, Guernsey joined the Gig Harbor Historic Waterfront Associationand currently sits on the City of Gig Harbor’s Planning and Building Committee.
Since 2012, she has been working with city officials and local residents on the Downtown Visioning Project to revitalize downtown Gig Harbor in the historic waterfront district.

She lives in Gig Harbor with her husband Corbett Platt and is an attorney at the Pierce County Prosecutor’s Office.
This year’s general elections will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013.
