Key Center Library Remodel Ahead of Schedule; Expected to Reopen Feb. 4
Until the library opens, residents may come on board the Explorer Kids' Bookmobile at Key Peninsula Civic Center and check out books, movies, audiobooks and other items.

Good news!Β Key Center Pierce County Library, located atΒ 8905 KPN, Lakebay,Β plans to reopen earlier than planned, onΒ Monday, Feb. 4,Β nearly a month ahead of schedule.Β
According to itsΒ Community Relations DirectorΒ Mary Getchell, work to make improvements at Key Center Library has gone much faster than planned.Β
The library will be closed through Feb. 3. Until then, residents may come on board the Explorer Kidsβ Bookmobile and check out books, movies, audiobooks and other items. The bookmobile will be atΒ Key Peninsula Civic Center, 17010 S. Vaughn Rd.

- Monday-Friday 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
- Saturday 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
People can also use computers for freeΒ inside the civic center, on a first come, first served basis for 30 minutes-1 hour.Β
- Monday-Wednesday 12-5 p.m.
- Friday 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Saturday 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
The library has been closed for improvementsΒ to bring customers improved service. During the closure, workers are making the lobby area into usable library space, adding computers and a movie machine, and speeding up Wi-Fi access.
