Online Voter Registration Deadline Ends Monday for August Primary

Monday, July 8, will be the last day to register to vote or update voter registration information online or in person in time for the Aug. 6 primary election, according to Pierce County Elections.

In-person registration will continue through July 29 for those who are currently not registered in Washington.

Gig HarborΒ votersΒ will see three primaries this August:

26th Legislative District, State Senator*:Β 

Peninsula School District No. 401 - Director, District 5:
  • David Olson
  • Curt Carroll
  • Rick Jones
Peninsula Metropolitan Park District - Commissioner, PositionΒ 1:
*This is a partisan office, state law requires this race to appear on the primary and general election ballot even though only two candidates filed.

Pierce County Elections will mailΒ primaryΒ ballots to all registeredΒ votersΒ onΒ July 19, so it’s important that citizens register toΒ voteΒ and keep their address and other information, including their signature, updated.

  • In person at theΒ Pierce County Elections Center

VotersΒ who miss theΒ July 8Β deadlineΒ to update their registration should still contact the Elections office to update their information for future elections. Pierce County residents not currently registered in Washington can register in person afterΒ July 8Β at the Elections office throughΒ July 29.

Who can register?

To be eligible to register toΒ vote, you must be:

  • 18 years old by election day (Aug. 6)
  • A United States citizen
  • A legal resident of the state of Washington
  • Not under the authority of the Department of Corrections
