1. Narrows Bridge drivers: Expect delays this weekend for pothole repair (thenewstribune.com) — If you’re driving from Tacoma into Gig Harbor this Saturday, expect major delays on the westbound Tacoma Narrows Bridge as two left lanes close from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. for pothole repairs. WSDOT says this longer-term fix follows temporary work in November and could be rescheduled if weather turns severe.
   

2. Thousands without power on the Key Peninsula Wednesday evening (thenewstribune.com) — Power has been restored to earlier outages around Gig Harbor, but thousands of Peninsula Light customers on the Key Peninsula were without electricity Wednesday evening after trees reportedly took down transmission lines. Crews were patrolling lines, dispatchers were exploring rerouting options, and scattered outages near Gig Harbor were still being tracked on the PenLight outage map.
   

3. County Council plans to meet Sheriff's Department staffing request once union negotiations wrap up (gigharbornow.org) — Pierce County Council says it will meet the Sheriff’s Department’s staffing request once union contract talks conclude, with $26 million in additional funding already set aside. That decision directly affects patrol coverage for Gig Harbor and the Key Peninsula, where residents and Councilmember Robyn Denson have pushed hard for more deputies amid ongoing shortages and recruitment challenges.
   

4. Hybrid ER-urgent care opens in Port Orchard (gigharbornow.org) — A new hybrid ER–urgent care clinic in Port Orchard is now taking patients and is expected to ease pressure on St. Anthony Hospital’s emergency room in Gig Harbor. Nurses triage visitors into emergency or urgent care, aiming to cut costs and wait times. A similar Bremerton facility has already served thousands, suggesting potential relief for Gig Harbor residents who rely on St. Anthony.
