• Former Pierce Co. elementary teacher, worship pastor found guilty of child molestation (komonews.com) — A former Peninsula School District elementary teacher who lived in Gig Harbor has been found guilty on 12 counts of first-degree child molestation, with sentencing set for April 10. The case, involving Evergreen Elementary students, has shaken local families and prompted renewed assurances from district leaders about student safety and responding to warning signs. 
• Don't like the roundabout? Just drive through the middle (gigharbornow.org) — Police say a 28-year-old Gig Harbor man drove his SUV straight through a Burnham Drive roundabout’s center island, earning a reckless driving citation, and officers also took reports from two local women who lost thousands to holiday-season scammers. Another call involved a sailboat allegedly trespassing and stealing power at a private marina, where an aggressive dog complicated enforcement.
