SATURDAY: Parks Appreciation Day in Gig Harbor

Pierce County’s 12^th annual Parks Appreciation Day is this Saturday, April 20.

Local residents of all ages are invited to come help clean up the parks from 9 a.m. to noon.

According to GigHarborGuide.com, Taco Time Traveler truck will be providing tacos and white chicken chili at Sehmel Homestead Park for all volunteers on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Volunteers are encouraged to wear warm, appropriate clothing, depending on the weather and bring tools such as small hand tools, loppers, pruners, gloves, rakes, shovels, small pitchforks and even wheelbarrows (make sure and label them). Due to limited parking, carpool is encouraged.

In Gig Harbor, the City, PenMet Parks and Key Pen Parks will be hosting Parks Appreciation Day at the following parks:
